Bravo! Records

Bravo! was a budget-priced record label that was a key part of the early Pickwick International empire. Active from 1957 to 1962, it was known for its low-cost albums. A large portion of its releases were "sound-alike" records, featuring anonymous studio musicians performing songs that were either covers of popular hits or re-creations of well-known musical styles. This strategy allowed Pickwick to offer albums at a much lower price point than the major labels and distribute them through non-traditional outlets like supermarkets. After 1962, the label was phased out and its repertoire was moved to other Pickwick subsidiaries, like the International Award Series.
