The Wizard Of Oz
Original Film Soundtrack

Regarded now as one of the finest film musicals of all time, the initial reception to The Wizard Of Oz in 1939 was almost lukewarm. The film did not go into profit until it was re-releaeded in 1949 and its reputation did not begin to soar until it began getting an annual showing on television in 1956.
Songs such as Over The Rainbow, We're Off To See The Wizard and Follow The Yellow Brick Road have a timeless quality about them, even as stand alone songs; sat within the film soundtrack they are little short of works of art.
