I Know (You Don't Love Me No More)

Barbara George

Considered by many to be the epitome of a one-hit wonder, Barbara George enjoyed a major pop and R&B smash with that one hit, the self-penned I Know (You Don’t Love Me No More). Although Barbara was able to make a further appearance on the R&B listings, her time on the pop chart was done.

There was a very good reason for this sudden halt in her chart fortunes, with the distributing label making a play for her to sign directly with all manner of inducements. Barbara made the move but found the switch worked against her recording career, eventually prompting Barbara to leave the recording industry and concentrate on being a mother.
